Composite decking typically lasts 25 to 30 years with minimal maintenance.
PVC decking can last 30 to 50 years, being highly resistant to moisture and insects.
Wood decking (like pressure-treated pine) generally lasts 10 to 15 years, depending on upkeep and exposure.
Bamboo decking usually lasts 15 to 25 years if properly sealed and maintained.

For composite decking, scrub with soapy water or a composite deck cleaner and rinse with a hose.
PVC decking cleans easily with mild soap and water using a soft brush or sponge.
Wood decks should be swept, then cleaned with deck cleaner or soapy water—gentle power washing is okay.
For bamboo decks, sweep regularly, wash with mild soap and water, and reseal yearly for protection.
Minor scratches or small cracks can usually be repaired—composite and PVC decks may just need a heat gun or color-matched filler, while wood and bamboo can be sanded and sealed. But if the damage is deep, spreading, or affects safety, it’s best to replace the affected boards to avoid further issues.
Please call us if you have deep scratches or cracked boards / structures in your deck.
